Sword Art Online  is one of those animes that I can say I had the pleasure to have watched. After listening to Lauren's presentation a few weeks ago about characters being teleported into another world, I thought I would give this show a go.

Sword Art Online was a pleasant easy watch. It was fun enough to have watch it for at least the first season. However, I have not had the pleasure to watch the rest. The whole concept of normal person being transported into another world and magically becoming fantastic has been a bit overplayed. Nonetheless, I had a good time with Sword Art Online. This show particularly plays with the fear of being trapped in a virtual world, something I have been deeply terrified of. While the concept of strolling through a fantasy world in my own skin and skills is fun, it is also terrifying to know that if I die in the game, I die in real life. Perhaps, us humans of today need a taste of what it was like to build strength and fight for our lives, since everything today is at the tip of our fingers.

I always wondered, what would happen if this truly happened to us. What a real human would do in a situation set as this in which you are trapped in a virtual world and are told that if you die, you die for real. Would anyone kill just to kill? Would people try to find out the truth by taking their lives since they are living people behind in the real world? This show raised some questions I wish were answered. While it is fun to see the characters grow and fight, I also wish to know what was going on in the outside world. Truly, it is hard for me to imagine there wouldn't be any sort of massively depressed characters that tried to explore the human emotion somehow. I am sure not everybody was overjoyed to be trapped in the game. I would love to see a GOOD live action series or movie of this anime. I believe it would be absolutely fantastic.
